Understanding Psoriasis
Posted On 2011-11-27 , 5:19 PM
It is important to understand Psoriasis before you can make the required changes for healing.
"You need to work in harmony with your body's natural defences by giving it natural "ammo" to fight this immune system disease!" - Katy Wilson
Your Immune system is your natural defence against disease, our protector from virus, bacteria and infections. Your Immune system does this by flooding the threatened tissue with blood such as, to an injury, when you injure by scraping or scratching when you fall over. By creating this redness which is actually inflammation caused by the extra blood flow our body sets up the natural defence against attack. Before and after images Be Psoriasis Free For Life
This happens because when an immune response is activated, programmed cells send chemical messages to your brain activating your immune system setting up a response in the affected area. This then starts the healing process but also naturally causes redness or inflammation
.
When you have psoriasis your immune system is overactive, causing an excessive amount of protein in your body’s system creating skin cell reproduction acceleration. Your body has no way or keeping up with the normal shedding process – we shed normal skin cells over approximately four weeks. but the overactive cell re-production means that your body cannot shed them fast enough. This then sets up the redness and itching.
Psoriasis is not a disease of the skin and is not caused by an injury to the surface of your body. Psoriasis is a disease of the immune system a response to faulty signals in the immune system creating an excessive amount of protein that sets up the inflammatory response of overactive skin cell development creating the rash on your skin.
Psoriasis is not contagious; you cannot catch it by direct contact with the rash and it cannot be successfully treated with creams and lotions although these may bring temporary relief of the symptoms.
There are many types of psoriasis. It can reveal itself as a dry scaly patch, red smooth patches, white puss filled blisters, or it can cover large areas of the body in a red mass with fine scales. The most common form of psoriasis is called plaque psoriasis which appears as raised reddish skin covered with silvery scale.
Whichever variety you have contracted psoriasis is a chronic condition that come from the overactive development of cells and are treated the same way. It is interesting to note that between 10 and 30% of people who develop psoriasis contract a related form of arthritis called psoriatic arthritis.
It is reassuring to understand that you are not the only one who has contracted this disease there are millions of people who suffer with Psoriasis. It is not completely understood yet but it is thought that it may be hereditary and especially if you have a European background or a close blood relative with psoriasis.
The first thing to do for psoriasis is to clean up your Liver with a good liver cleanse. There is also great book that will help you understand psoriasis, it is available here. and you can access the book and have all that information immediately. Remember knowledge is the key to every great change.
Another factor in your discovery of why you have contracted Psoriasis is to look at the underlying sub-conscious beliefs surrounding Psoriasis and Arthritis. Science has proven that there is an emotional response to every illness, so what are the emotional issues or beliefs that surround Psoriasis. What have you repressed in your past that is affecting you now? This repression is often hidden deep in out pyschy often from a negative experience we had at a very young age.
Beliefs such as fear based issues, what are you afraid of?, beliefs around being able to tell people what you think without hurting them, giving up, hating yourself, no point trying to change things. Beliefs about life being painful, being afraid of your emotions, there are many.
If you would like to look at your own particular set of beliefs around Psoriasis you can easily achieve this with Theta Healing®. Read about Theta Healing and contact a practitioner who will help you identify your underlying beliefs and work with you to make any changes required here. You will be amazed at the difference to your general feeling of well being that this can make.
I wish you well.

Why Am I Losing My Hair?
Posted On 2011-11-20 , 5:56 PM
Causes Of Hair Loss
A common thread in the many discussions about why we lose our hair is that there seems to be a plethora of varied reasons why our hair falls out.
It is normal for our hair to have a little bit of fall out, like every other animal on the planet that has hair, we naturally shed. The amount we naturally shed varies with the seasons, as we lose more hair in the spring-summer than in the autumn- winter; this follows the hot cold patterning and natural progression of the seasons. It is normal to shed about 10% of your hair over the course of a year, this is nothing to be at all concerned about.
It is the rapid hair loss that concerns us the most, the loss where clumps of hair fall out or your brush is filled with hair every day. This is definitely cause for concern and requires a bit of internalising as to the cause and since it takes about two to three months for hair to change you should look back to before that time period as well when deciding what is causing your hair to fall out.
One of the main reasons we lose out hair is the genetic factor, if our mum or dad ended up with very thin hair or went bald then we often see that as the cause of our shiny scalp, sometimes from a very young age.
If you have had a big shock recently, like an accident or death in the family or a divorce can cause changes in your hair and cause it to either rapidly change colour – go grey or fall out. Other slower reactions can be from ongoing stress, poor diet over a sustained time, pregnancy – a foetus will take whatever it needs from the mother often to her detriment, hormonal changes, menopause, puberty.
Health conditions like thyroid issues, anaemia, and iron deficiency can cause hair loss. Any sudden hair loss should be thoroughly checked out by a health professional such as a naturopath, or GP as blood tests may be required to determine the cause.
These issues all have names like alopecia –hair falls out leaving small circles of baldness on your scalp, traction alopecia from hair being pulled tight – ponytails, braids etc that are putting too much tension on the hair roots, bad habits like twisting and pulling the hair. Fungal infections such as tinea capitas can also cause hair loss.
It has been proven that every illness has an emotional cause; sometimes this is a bit hard to understand, however, there is much work done around this with some spectacular outcomes. It’s all about our underlying belief system, our sub-conscious mind. Our sub-conscious does play a major part in our hair loss. For instance fungal infections are supported by our issues of resentment, so if we resent something or someone we invite in fungal infections, this applies not only to our scalp and hair but to many other internal issues as well creating imbalance within, which can ultimately and invisibly cause hair loss.
Hair loss holds beliefs such as feeling powerless, feeling rejected as with the loss of a partner through divorce or a break up in families, feelings of unworthiness. Often these beliefs are attached to the particular type of personal loss we are experiencing.
Alopecia for instance comes from beliefs about bring unhappy with who you are, afraid that someone will see who you really are-scary stuff, a lack of compassion for others, or wanting what you cannot get.
None of these beliefs may seem particularly nice but they are an indication of past learning’s from our childhood or things that we have repressed in our life. They often come up when we are aging, feelings of not being good enough or depressed, in danger, feeling weak and cannot ask for help, not wanted.
Your own particular set of beliefs is unique to you. The great thing is there are practitioners that can identify these beliefs and release them from your sub-conscious so that your hair or whatever other dis-ease you may be experiencing can be resolved. If this sounds a bit over the top to you, I have personally witnessed major changes in people’s health just by changing their beliefs, it is so powerful.

So What Is Gout Anyway?
Posted On 2011-11-14 , 6:09 PM
What Exactly Is Gout?
Far from the new disease on the block, gout has been plaguing people throughout history. Indeed, diagnosed for over 2,000 years, Gout is considered one of our longest-known diseases.
Throughout much of that history, gout was considered the “disease of kings," primarily because it was thought to be a result of overindulgence of fatty foods and alcohol.
Modern science has shown us that—while such overindulgence can definitely heighten the risk of gout—anybody can be affected by the pain of gout.
Gout is a form of arthritis that often sneaks up in the middle of the night (we'll explain why it usually occurs at night later - it's the key to curing gout), suddenly attacking your joints with a deep, persistent pain.
Gout most often results when needle-like crystals of uric acid form in the body’s connective tissue or lodge themselves in the space between two bones (i.e., in the joints). It feels like glass shards in your toe, very nasty and painful.
These uric acid crystals inflame the surrounding area and lead to inflammatory arthritis.
This inflammatory arthritis is responsible for heat, pain, redness, stiffness, and swelling commonly associated with attacks of gout.
What are the Symptoms of Gout?
The #1 biggest symptom of gout is extreme pain, swelling, throbbing and heat in the joint of your big toe.
Left big toe inflamed with gout
If you've never had gout before, you might not understand how easy it is for doctors to diagnose gout.
Your doctor can do a test for the presence of uric acid crystals in your joint fluid (by taking a sample of the fluid in the affected joint), but most likely he will recognize the unique symptoms to diagnose that you do indeed have gout.
Other symptoms of gout include:
• Multiple attacks of acute arthritis
• Arthritis attacks that develop over the course of an extremely quick time (e.g., over the span of 12-24 hours with inflamed, painful, red, and hot joints)
• Arthritis attack that affects only one joint; most often affecting the toe, ankle, or knee. The first attack of gout most often affects the joints of the big toe. In fact, gout is thought to affect the big toe of 75% of all patients during the course of the disease.
Additionally, the affects of gout can be found in other joints such as the elbows, fingers, heels, instep, and wrists.
Gout can be cured in just day or two with ingredients from the grocery store, read a users response.

Fishy Odor of Bacterial Vaginosis and What to Do About It.
Posted On 2011-10-30 , 7:12 PM
The smell of fish is invasive and quite strong, but when it’s coming from you then you know that something is really not right. Many women feel like they could be working in a fish shop because of that awful fishy smell. Trouble is you know the truth, that awful fishy smell is Bacterial Vaginosis, a common bacterial infection of the vaginal passage. It causes you to feel embarrassed and you think that you are somehow unclean.
Have you been visiting the doctor regularly trying to get relief for what you now know is Bacterial Vaginosis.
Well that is in your past, there is a way to treat Bacterial Vaginosis that will see it off in a very short space of time, it is a natural treatment that is rarely shared with you on your visits to the Doctor.
Bacterial Vaginosis is a common problem over 30% of women contract it, but knowing that thousands of women suffer from Bacterial Vaginosis is of no comfort to you when you are one of them. It’s re-assuring in some ways to know that this is not a unique to you; it is an extremely embarrassing one though.
One of the easiest to contract and most common issues a woman faces when she becomes sexually active is the infection called Bacterial Vaginosis, that fishy smell that exudes from ‘down there’ and sends you to the bathroom for clean underwear and maintenance several times a day.
Bacterial Vaginosis is an over proliferation of multiple types of vaginal bacteria that cause a discharge from the vagina that is quite fishy.
There are many types of bacteria that cause this odor, and many reasons why woman can have a vaginal discharge so the first step in the treatment must be diagnosis. This will ensure that other types of infection including yeast infection or even more serious like Chlamydia, are not the cause of the discharge and discomfort being experienced.
We are not talking about normal vaginal discharge, every woman will know what is normal for her. We are all different some woman a heavy discharge is normal while others have none or very little. We are talking about an excessive or unusual amount of discharge that is different to your normal day to day flow, usually thin and pale that has a distinct fishy odor.
Bacterial Vaginosis was thought to be sexually transmitted in the past, however this is not always so as women who are not and have never been sexually active can contract BV. Multiple sexual partners can increase your chances of Bacterial Vaginosis, but then so can smoking, and IUD’s or other apparatus being inserted in the vagina.
affects your whole life, it changes the way you feel about yourself, and it it brings you to the health clinic or doctors surgery more often than you care to mention. If you are now being told as a friend of mine once was, “it’s something you will have to live with”, then this is not the truth.
The use of antibiotics or creams is often unsuccessful and in fact can be the cause of a yeast infection, 50% or more will be re-infected with Bacterial Vaginosis in the first six months after treatment. Not a very good record.
Search around on the internet and you'll see this is an extremely common experience.
Most doctors just don't know about alternative treatments for Bacterial Vaginosis
It's not your doctor's fault that they can't be as helpful as you would like - most of them are just unaware of the effective alternative Bacterial Vaginosis treatment methods that are out there.
When every time your partner starts getting amorous you have to keep going to the bathroom to have a bit of a cleanup, spoiling the moment for both of you, and its so embarrassing that you wonder if its all worth it then its time for you to start taking action yourself.
I want to help you get the answers to your BV, there is a natural solution in a great eBook that will guide you through the steps to a natural remedy for BV from your home then you can sleep easy knowing that you have solved your BV and need not have this issue again.
“The BV Miracle” walks you step-by-step through a proven, time-tested, cost effective method for Bacterial Vaginosis treatment and prevention.

Are Your Smelly Feet Keeping the Love out of YOUR Life
Posted On 2011-10-23 , 4:00 PM
Are you afraid to take your shoes off in public because of the intense stink that you know is hiding in those shoes of yours? Is it embarrassing to stand beside someone for long periods because you are afraid that you sweaty smelly foot odour will creep up to their nostrils just like it does yours.
Smelly Feet are one of the most common and frustrating of the non-social graces that we endure. Thousands of folks struggle with this smelly problem yet it is relatively easy one to fix. Understanding what it is and how it comes to pass is the first step.
Smelly feet can run in families, I am not sure if this is a genetic thing or if it is just the sharing of those nasty bacteria that is the cause, but I have noticed that if one family member has a propensity to smelly feet then often there are others in the same family with the problem as well.
If you want to stop clearing rooms when you take off your shoes and start feeling comfortable about removing your shoes, or sandals, because they can smell as much or more than anything else, and did you know that your odour is special, yes special to you, no two peoples feet have exactly the same stink.
Smelly feet are caused by an active tribe of bacteria growing on your feet, they love to cultivate on your hot, sweaty feet and love to live in your shoes. Since your feet are covered in sweat glands, and there are a few million of these you can see why they can get very wet and sweaty, the perfect environment for growing millions of little bacteria, in the gallon or so of sweat your feet produce in a week.
Not surprising then that if you are one of the many unlucky souls that has been blessed with this common problem that the smell can be bad enough to clear a room with the smell of those feet when you remove your shoes. Or even worse be the reason why your romance can go out the window or door as soon as you take those two tootsies out for an airing.
There are some great home remedies for smelly feet, often we find that what grandma said actually is often the thing that works best and is usually the most economical as well.
There are a few things you can do for stinky feet to relieve the problem, you most likely do this out of frustration anyway but it is important to first make sure that your feet are washed with a good soap, and then thoroughly dried, even in those fiddly places like between your toes.
Use a soap or skin wash that is Ph neutral or slightly acidic not a more common alkaline soap as this will make the smell worse. Unfortunately most soaps on the market are alkaline, which makes no sense since our skin is the first barrier to disease, bacteria and fungus and needs to maintain its slightly acidic nature to ward off harmful invaders.
Wash and dry your feet really well, add some foot powder, common baking soda is good or if it is available boracic acid from the pharmacy or drug store is excellent. Giving your feet a good salty bath is also good as it kills the bacteria that are residing on your feet and de-odorises your feet, then dust your feet with baking soda or foot powder.
Lavender oil and eucalyptus oil are also great for stinky feet and will help with the de-odorising and removal of unwanted lingering smells.
Be aware of your shoes, put baking powder and eucalyptus in those as well and leave for 24 hours, making sure you dust them out thoroughly before you wear your shoes again. If your shoes are washable like gym or sports shoes give them a regular wash. Do not wear the same shoes every day as this is just creating the same old environment for the bacteria. Allow your shoes to be thoroughly dried out before you wear them again.
Always wear absorbent socks, preferably cotton as these will soak up the perspiration better than any other sock on the market and always carry spares for those times when your feet are dripping or getting blisters.
The other thing is don’t lose heart, you are surely not the only one in the world who suffers from this problem, and it can start at a very early age. My granddaughter developed stinky feet at a very young age. There are lots of ways to deal with smelly feet, a great eBook “Cure Your Sweaty Feet”, can show you how.
I want you to get rid of sweaty feet. I know you are fed up with just how many shoes this condition has destroyed for you.
